Vikki started dancing at the age of 3 in the Annette Hynes Ballet School in Ireland completing exams in ballet, modern and tap. Alongside her dance training she performed in many musicals with local performing arts societies.
After finishing school she went into full time dance training in Dublin for two years before moving to England to train at the Deborah Capon Dance College in Kent for a further three years. While gaining her teaching qualifications in ballet, modern and tap she also took vocational graded examinations in all three genres, LAMDA acting exams and performed in annual shows and choreographic competitions and was awarded 'Most Promising Pupil'.
Upon completion of her training she moved to London and started working in South London Dance Studios and Perfect Circle Dance where Vikki trained students for dance examinations, choreographed and coached on an individual basis for the festival and competition teams, and prepared children for Royal Ballet School auditions, West End auditions and auditions for London Performing Colleges. Some of Vikki’s students starred in Matilda, Lion King and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on the West End, featured in tv adverts and modelling campaigns, performed in London Children’s Ballet, English National Youth Ballet and trained in the Junior and Senior Associates in the Royal Ballet. She choreographed many school productions and the original ballet 'Windvale Sprites' based on the novel by Mackenzie Crook. She also set up 'Musical Theatre Workshops' intensive summer courses which she ran for 5 years. She was presented with a Jack Petchey Award as an outstanding teacher in 2015. Vikki’s past students have gone on to full time training in White Lodge-Royal Ballet, Tring, Bird’s College, Laine, Arts Ed, Central Ballet School, and one is even dancing in The Matthew Bourne Company.
In January 2017 Vikki moved to Vancouver, Canada taking up the role of head of ISTD exams at the Landing Dance Centre training students from the advanced division, half day professional programme and recreational division. On top of her extensive ISTD teaching Vikki also expanded on her musical theatre work during her time with Lights Up Musical Theatre School's. During her time abroad she was lucky enough to be a guest teacher in many dance studios for workshops, masterclasses, summer intensives and drop in classes, as well as continuing her own training in the popular Harbour Dance Centre. Vikki moved back to Ireland in September and started teaching in various dance schools around Dublin and started Vitality Dance Academy in October 2018. She is delighted to be back home where she hopes to pass on her wealth of knowledge and love of dance to all those that she teaches.
